Costa Rican authorities are searching for a woman who disappeared Tuesday while hiking to Cerro Ventisqueros, the country's second-highest peak and part of Chirripó National Park.
Chirripó National Park will be closed "until further notice" beginning on Saturday, Feb. 15, according to the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC).

Firefighters have extinguished a severe forest fire in Chirripó National Park in Costa Rica's southeastern region. The fire burned through a total of eight hectares of the park, and is still raging in the mountains surrounding the park.
