Costa Rica’s Nayara named 4th best hotel in the world by TripAdvisor

If we had a penny for every time Nayara Hotel, Spa & Gardens won an award, we’d almost be able to afford to stay at Nayara Hotel, Spa & Gardens.

The latest accolade is a big one: Trip Advisor’s Traveler’s Choice Awards called it the 4th best hotel in the world. The world! Although the online travel directory’s perplexing algorithm for determining best hotels doesn’t seem reliable, let’s just go ahead and call this a victory.

Tucked into the jungle near the Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica’s Northern Zone, Nayara is defined by its flowing saffron curtains, balcony Jacuzzi tubs and intuitive service. We loved it (read our review here). Condé Nast Traveler readers loved it. And so did Travel + Leisure readers. So, it’s practically unanimous.

But wait! Some amateur critics from TripAdvisor itself are already taking issue with the world ranking. To them we say, start your own arbitrary contest.

Many more hotels in Costa Rica took home awards in various categories. These are apparently the top 25 Costa Rica hotels (which are nothing if not an indicator that TripAdvisor reviewers are spending far too much time in Manuel Antonio and around Arenal). You can also find the winners for top Costa Rican family hotels, romantic hotels and more.
