Vaso Lleno hosting event for sexual abuse survivors

Earlier this year, Cris Gomar, the founder of the Vaso Lleno social outreach initiative, created a forum for survivors of sexual abuse to share their stories.

Gomar was so overwhelmed by the response that she has organized an event for victims that will be “full of love, support, affection and understanding.”

“No one is going to be forced to tell their story in any way,” Gomar wrote. “The idea is to see how we feel in this space, to help the victims, to generate a support network and to accompany them in their struggle.”

The event, called Reconstruí tu historia (Rebuild your story) will be held Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Selina CoWork in Barrio Otoya, San José.

It will be moderated by Militza Castellot, a personal growth and transformation coach. Entries are limited and cost 5,000 colones (about $8.25) each.
