Series of small earthquakes rattles Costa Rica’s Central Valley

Central Valley residents hoping to sleep in Saturday morning were shook awake by a series of small earthquakes that started just after 9 a.m.

According to The Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI), a 4.7-magnitude earthquake occurred at 9:10 a.m. near San Isidro de Heredia. The quake was followed by two aftershocks with magnitudes of 3.0 and 3.9 at 9:17 a.m. and 9:20 a.m.

No injuries or damages have been reported.
