Pushed by strong growth in agriculture and construction sectors, Panama’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 11.2% last year.
The country’s GDP is now an estimated $19.73 billion.
The report of the growth, issued by Panama’s Comptroller General’s Office, pointed to “activities related with the foreign sector” as most responsible.
Production of pineapple and cantaloupe was up 19.8% and 29%, respectively, while the construction industry posted growth of near 20%.
