The Nrmal Festival, held in Mexico annually since 2010, has become an important way for emerging Latin American artists to gain traction. In November, Costa Rica will become the first country outside of Mexico to host this musical phenomenon.
“The festival is a cultural show in which indigenous peoples and diasporas’ cultures will be shared, enhancing the African, Chinese, Jewish and other cultures that form part of the national identity,” said organizer Carol Britton.
Epicentro offers conferences, music performances by both local and international musicians, and a music market. The conferences are mostly about the music industry and its potential in the country, but also provide artists with information about how to market their work.
