Costa Rica closed 2018 with a fiscal deficit of 6 percent of its GDP, below the 7.2 percent that had been projected by the Central Bank, President Carlos Alvarado said Monday.
Two more tropical waves are expected to hit Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast this week. The first will hit Thursday and the National Emergency Comission (CNE) announced a red alert for the districts of Cóbano, Lepanto and Paquera.
