Help wanted: Job fair aims to fill 3,000 positions

The Costa Rican Investment Board (CINDE) will host its 15th annual job fair on March 6-8 at the Convention Center of Costa Rica in Cariari, Heredia.

More than 50 companies will recruit to fill 3,000 positions, according to press release from CINDE and Casa Presidencial. The principal requirement is that applicants be multilingual, with English-Spanish bilingualism preferred for most opportunities.

The available positions include roles in project management, software development, IT, systems engineering, accounting, finance, technical support, human resources and sales, among others.

“This year, we redesigned the user experience of the fair in order to bring participants closer to the new trends in the knowledge economy, a challenge that as a country we must assume if we want take advantage of the fourth industrial revolution,” said Vanessa Gibson, a CINDE spokesperson. “Participating companies will be recruiting staff to fill 3,000 available positions, which include 420 job categories.”

Prospective applicants must pre-register and complete a language test at www.cindejobfair.com prior to the event. The site will generate a unique QR code that is required for entry.

To celebrate its 15th anniversary, the CINDE fair will offer participants soft-skills training opportunities. It is also providing free transportation to the Convention Center through a partnership with Soluciones 506. 

The fair will be open March 6-7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday, March 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
