Two Costa Rican students will study at NASA with Franklin Chang

Each year the XXI Century Strategy Association gives scholarships to students to train with astronauts and other professionals from NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.

For this year, the winners of the scholarships are Sebastián Herrera Sánchez from the University of Costa Rica and José Leonardo Brenes from Blue Valley School. They will travel with U.S.-Costa Rican astronaut and physicist Franklin Chang, and will learn for two weeks alongside other young people between the ages of 15 and 19 from 23 different countries around the world.

Costa Rica is the only country in Central America that grants scholarships for students to attend the Space School program, which seeks to promote scientific study and provide orientation to new generations about innovative technological developments in the aerospace industry.
