“Biodiversity is directly linked to the number of trees in the landscape,” ecologist Rebecca Cole said. “More trees equals more biodiversity and more carbon sequestration. Every tree counts.”

Cole argues that, in addition to the government, landowners and private institutions should be involved in tropical forest restoration.
