1,500 Hectares Donated to EARTH University

THE family of deceased formerPresident Daniel Oduber (1974-1978) hasdonated 1,500 hectares (3,700 acres) inthe northwestern province of Guanacasteto EARTH University – an internationaluniversity dedicated to agricultural sciencesand natural resources located nearGuápiles, on the Caribbean slope.The school is in the process of determininghow the Guanacaste land can bestbe used to make a valuable contribution tothe area, according to Karol Acon, coordinatorof the project.Acon called the donation “extraordinary”and said it is based on Oduber’sdesire to promote agricultural developmentin the region, adding that the formerPresident always used the land to experiment with new, innovative crops.
