The end of the Covid-19 pandemic remains a distant future for Latin America and the Caribbean, the regional office of the World Health Organization (WHO) said Wednesday.
The United States is the worst-affected country with 223,059 deaths, followed by Brazil with 155,900, India with 117,306, Mexico with 87,894 and Britain with 44,347.
The American continent has summed 19 million cases and more than 614,000 deaths related to the new coronavirus that appeared in China at the end of 2019. This represents almost half of the known infections and deaths worldwide.
