Hurricane Eta is expected to cause life-threatening storm surge, catastrophic winds, flash flooding and landslides when it makes landfall in Central America early Tuesday.
Two more tropical waves are expected to hit Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast this week. The first will hit Thursday and the National Emergency Comission (CNE) announced a red alert for the districts of Cóbano, Lepanto and Paquera.
The National Emergency Commission evacuated eight families on Thursday . Mud and debris from the landslides damaged their homes, but the families are safe and healthy.
