Two men have been detained for the murder of a young Mexican tourist. Authorities say the woman was killed during an attempted robbery in Santa Teresa this Sunday.
The statement from the Judicial Branch announcing the arrest also indicated that former Banco de Costa Rica manager Mario Barrenechea was arrested at his home in Santa Ana.
The National Police received 2,512 complaints for property crimes during the first half of this year, representing a 13.6 percent drop from the same period of 2016.
