Costa Rica anti-drug comissioner warns of possible terrorist attacks

Costa Rica’s anti-drug commissioner, Mauricio Boraschi, announced a state of alert for the country’s airports, borders and ports against a possible terrorist attack, the daily La Nacion reported Thursday.

Boraschi said the alert stems for an anti-terrorist network that counts the United States, Chile and Brazil as members. Boraschi told La Nacion the threat is attributed to the Lebanese Islamic group, Hezzbolah

No specific country was mentioned as a target in the warning, the anti-drug commissioner said. Boraschi added that Costa Rican officials will be keeping a special watch on “migration flows” and that security forces and emergency workers would be prepared to coordinate efforts in the even of an attack through Friday morning when the alert expires, La Nacion reported.
