PHOTO REPORT: University of Costa Rica celebrates World Environment Day

As part of the celebrations for World Environment Day 2015, the University of Costa Rica in San José held a full day of automobile-free activities. Students and teachers were encouraged to use bicycles, skates, skateboards and other zero-emission vehicles.

Students also planted trees on campus, had a chance to play different sports and enjoyed concerts and plays.

“This is great, the university should hold this kind of event more often so that students and teachers use bicycles and public transportation,” said faculty member Soledad Castro.
