Water Rubs Out ‘Grease,’ for Now

The musical production “Grease,” which was set to be staged Aug. 16 through Sept. 14 by theater students at the Alajuela College Prep School (CUNA), northwest of San José (TT, Aug. 8), has been cancelled because of flooding in the school’s auditorium.

The auditorium’s stage area is below ground level, and water reached up to the third row of seats, causing serious damage to the set and equipment, according to director Marco Araya.

The lively musical picturing teen life in the ’50s will be rescheduled when another auditorium is found. New show dates will be posted on www.carpediem.co.cr.
