Marie Bouzkova captured the Copa Colsanitas title in Bogotá on Sunday, battling back from a set down to defeat Hungary’s Panna Udvardy 6-7(7), 6-2, 6-2 in the final of the WTA 250 event. The top seed needed 2 hours and 50 minutes to finish the comeback and secure the third singles title of her career.
The final turned after a tight opening set that Udvardy edged in a tiebreak. Bouzkova responded with a much steadier second set, then took control in the decider as the match shifted firmly in her favor on the clay in the Colombian capital.
For Bouzkova, the title is a timely reward at the start of the clay-court swing. She arrived in Bogotá as the No. 1 seed and lived up to that billing, finishing the week with the trophy after holding off one of the tournament’s surprise finalists in Udvardy.
Udvardy, seeded eighth, pushed Bouzkova hard early and showed why she had earned her place in the final, but Bouzkova’s consistency and experience eventually told over the last two sets. By the end, the Czech player had turned a difficult afternoon into one of the strongest title runs of her season so far.
The win gives Bouzkova momentum heading deeper into the European clay season, while Bogotá once again delivered a title story built on patience, endurance, and adjustment rather than raw power alone.
