The Color of Costa Rica 2010 calendars are ready!
The calendar (El Color de Costa Rica), featuring paintings by 13 local artists, is published yearly by the Asociación Bienestar Social de la Ciudad de Escazú (Association for the Social Well-Being of Escazú), which also offers a variety of artful Christmas and all-occasion cards.
The association, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, uses profits from calendar and card sales to help support the Escazú CINAI, an educational and recreational center for area children from low-income families. The center offers text and reference books at its library, computers, tutors and a playground. Students in need receive uniforms, school supplies and textbooks.
Calendars cost ¢4,000 ($7) and cards cost ¢500 (90 cents) each. They are available at the association headquarters in front of the Red Cross building in Escazú and at a numbers of points in San José. For more information, call 2228-0279.
