Germany’s president to visit Costa Rica next week

Germany President Christian Wulff will meet Costa Rica President Laura Chinchilla on May 3 in San José.

Wulff will also attend a couple events around the city as part of the diplomatic visit. He’ll go to the inauguration of the renovations made to the Teatro Nacional (National Theater) and review a German scholarship program for masters and PhD students in Costa Rica.

”This is a valuable opportunity for Costa Rica to reaffirm our political relations in the European community” said Costa Rica’s Vice Foreign Minister Carlos Roverssi. ”We plan to discuss environmental cooperation and aerospace projects.”

The German government’s visit is part of a tour of Latin American, which also includes stops in Mexico and Brazil. Leaders in business, science and culture from Germany will accompany the president and other government members on the trip.
