The amount of BP money that will flow into Gulf Coast restoration over the next two decades is prodigious. Both BP and the government deserve credit for heading off a nasty and prolonged legal battle. What we still don't know — and may not know for a very long time — is the extent of the damage the spill caused.
Nemesio, Santiago and Sofía Díez, the stars of The Rolling Penguins, will rock the Jazz Café in order to raise funds for three women who are studying at the university level thanks to scholarships from the Costa Rica U.S.A. Foundation for Cooperation (CRUSA) and the Latin American University for Science and Technology (ULACIT).

The Prosecutor's Office on Thursday confirmed that a second woman has filed a criminal complaint alleging sexual abuse by former Costa Rican Renovation Party lawmaker Justo Orozco Álvarez. The complaint was filed early Wednesday morning over an incident that allegedly occurred on Tuesday, the same day Orozco was arrested on sexual abuse charges filed by a different victim.
According to Costa Rica's National System of Conservation Areas, mudslides and flooding damaged access roads and collapsed sewers in several parks, some of which were forced to close access to visitors. Those closings mostly occurred in the Central Volcanic Range, the La Amistad-Caribe area and Tortuguero National Park.
