Caldera Highway to implement one-way traffic the next two Sundays

On March 11 and March 18, sections of the Caldera Highway will be one-way only in the direction headed from the Pacific coast to San José, from 1-5p.m., in order to expedite post-vacation traffic.

Autopistas del Sol, the Spanish company that manages the highway, will implement one-way traffic flow to reduce jams on Route 27, the company said in a press release Friday.

One-way lanes will be used from Pozón de Orotina (Alajuela) to Ciudad Colón (San José), and Traffic Police officers will be posted along the route.

Drivers heading to the Pacific during these hours should use Route 3 (Atenas-Aguacate-Orotina) or Route 239 (Puriscal-Turrubares-Orotina).
