A new premium beer has hit Costa Rican coolers. Toña, a lager manufactured in Nicaragua by the Compañía Cervecera de Nicaragua, will now by distributed in Costa Rica by the Florida Ice and Farm Co.
A release from FIFCO said the beer will be marketed with the Bavaria, Heineken and Corona brands as a premium brand.
Toña will continue to be manufactured in Nicaragua, with FIFCO investing ¢100 million (about $200,000) in distribution.
FIFCO owns a 50% stake in the Compañía Cervecera de Nicaragua.
