Costa Rican Companies Head To Ornamental Plant Fair

Seven Costa Rican companies will attend the Iberflora ornamental plant buyers convention that starts today in Spain.

More than 600 companies will be present to sell to buyers from Germany, Belgium, Denmark, France, Holland, Poland, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Russia, according to a release from Costa Rica’s Foreign Trade Promotion Office (PROCOMER).

Costa Rica’s participation is the largest the country has ever had in the buyers fair, and underlines the growing importance of ornamental plants for the export sector:

Last year, the country exported a total of $183.6 million worth of live plants, flowers, bulbs, seeds and greenery.
