SAN SALVADOR (AFP) – The presidentsof Central America will meet Sept.20 in New York with their Brazilian counterpartLuiz Inacio Lula da Silva to analyzea new proposal by the socialist SouthAmerican leader to combat poverty,Salvadoran President Antonio Sacaannounced Tuesday.“This is a plan that President Lulawants to share with us and he has invitedus (to learn about it),” Saca said.According to the United NationsDevelopment Fund, 50.8% of CentralAmericans are living in poverty, and 23%are living in extreme poverty.
