The Air Surveillance Service (SVA) of Costa Rica's Public Security Ministry on Monday unveiled a new airplane meant to assist in anti-drug operations.Â
The National Museum of Costa Rica will use the information generated by the study to outline a plan for redirecting river flows and for protecting the archaeological sites at Finca 6.
The embassy's donation will fund operations of the ministry's Air Surveillance Service – in particular, the special missions carried out using an aircraft seized from two drug smugglers.
Fitzgerald Haney, the U.S. ambassador to Costa Rica, will leave his post immediately on Jan. 20, the same day that president-elect Donald Trump takes office.
