Seven men will stand trial for last year's murder of sea turtle conservationist Jairo Mora after a judge's ruling in a preliminary hearing in Costa Rica's Caribbean port city of Limón on Tuesday.
A judge on Tuesday night ordered three more months of preventive detention for seven defendants accused of participating in the murder of Costa Rican sea turtle conservationist Jairo Mora last year, according to the Limón prosecutor's office.
In an early-morning series of raids in the province of Limón, Costa Rican police captured eight suspects in the May 31 slaying of turtle conservationist Jairo Mora. But those who worked with Mora are challenging official statements issued by Costa Rica’s top authorities in a press conference on Wednesday.
