Costa Rica’s Tourism Ministry and PANIAMOR Foundation on Wednesday disclosed the first results of an online strategy to fight Costa Rica’s image as a child sex tourism destination.
Analyzing data from the Immigration Administration, the ICT said 41,698 more travelers arrived by air this year, for a total during the six-month period of 987,801. In a projected profit analysis, the ICT said the country's tourism sector pulled in about $1.6 billion during the period – about $161 million more than the first half of 2014.
Starting May 4, 2016 the airline will offer two flights a week between London and San José, Costa Rica during the UK summer, and three flights a week during the winter.
