Costa Rica’s cumulative inflation decreases during first semester

Accumulated inflation between January and June this year dropped 0.12 percent from the same months of 2011, according to the Consumer Price Index presented by the National Statistics and Census Institute (INEC).

The data suggest that for the first semester, cumulative variation reached 2.66 percent. Last year’s figure was 2.78 percent.

According to INEC figures, the goods and services sector showed the most positive variation. That figure includes prices on food and beverages, alcohol and cigarettes.
