Meteorologists say heavy rains will diminish during the week

The National Meteorological Institute (IMN) announced the intense rainfall, which caused floods and at least three deaths over the weekend, will lessen throughout the week.

The IMN forecast warned, however, that the rainy conditions will remain in the country’s Northern Zone and in the north side of the province of Guanacaste.

Cloudy skies will cover most the country and intermittent showers are expected to occur in the southern Caribbean and the south Pacific. In addition, there may be isolated showers in the north Pacific and the Central Valley.

The IMN recommends continued vigilance in places where there have been floods and landslides due to the current high saturation of water on the grounds.
