A 5.0 earthquake shook the Costa Rican capital San José and other parts of the country at 1:33 a.m. this morning.
The epicenter was 16.5 kilometers north of the town of Miramar, in Puntarenas province on the central Pacific coast, according to the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI).
Besides the capital, people also reported feeling the quake in Alajuela, Heredia, Playas del Coco and various parts of Puntarenas.
No damages or injuries were reported.
