Tickets for Shakira concert almost sell out during first day onsale

The ticket sales don’t lie. Shakira is a hit in Costa Rica.

Tickets for the Colombian musician’s concert at the new Estadio Nacional on April 10 went on sale online today at 12:00 a.m at www.laboleteria.co.cr. More than half were gone after eight hours. Some media outlets are reporting only 25 percent of the tickets remain.

José Cañas, spokesman for an entertainment company, said that more than 50 percent of the 40,000 tickets available for the event have been sold. Shakira, best known for the hits “She Wolf “ and “Hips Don’t Lie,” is having a concert as part of the inauguration ceremony for the new stadium.  

Prices for the tickets range from ¢15,600 ($31) to ¢62,000 ($124).

In addition to the the website www.laboleteria.co.cr, tickets are being sold at Adidas, Octubre 54 and Planet, three stores located in the Central Valley.
