HOMEOWNERS looking to sell inSan José face a long and slow processbecause of an abundance of housing, listedprices outside the real market value,and, in some cases, incompetent advisers,the daily La República reported.With many sellers reporting waitsstretching into years, real estate agenciessuch as Century 21, First Realty andBienes Raíces Brisas told the daily thatthe average time it takes to sell is six toeight months.Cultural influences also make themarket different in Costa Rica than inother countries. For example, peoplechange houses less often here than theUnited States and are not as accustomedto working with real estate agencies, thedaily reported.
