Fuel Consumption Up Slightly in Q1

Fuel demand was up only 1.19% during the first quarter of 2008 compared to the same period in 2007.

Demand for regular gas rose only 0.71%, a possible sign the record-high oil prices are finally starting to put a dent in national fuel consumption.

The demand for super, meanwhile, continued to increase, by 7.70%, according to the National Oil Refinery (RECOPE).

Diesel consumption grew by 3.59%.
