Ex-Judicial Investigation Police officer Marvin Hernández, 48, was found dead in his home Sunday in Chacarita, in the central Pacific province of Puntarenas, after being stabbed at least 14 times, the daily La Nación reported.
Police were tipped off by neighbors, who figured something was wrong after Hernández, also a traffic court judge, didn’t answer multiple phone calls, even though his television was playing loudly and his front door was open.
Police suspect Hernández was murdered by people he knew and allowed into his home because there were no signs of forced entry.
