Gran Hotel Costa Rica fosters culture and tourism development

As part of its historical role in developing tourism and promoting culture, the Gran Hotel Costa Rica partnered with the country’s cultural organizations and companies to contribute to the artistic agenda of San José.

Marketing Director, Ludwing Díaz, announced that the Gran Hotel Costa Rica, located in the heart of the capital city, wants to contribute to showing the world different artistic expressions of San José, as other cities that have already received this recognition have done.

The Hotel, founded in 1930 by businessman and physician Luis Paulino Jiménez Ortíz, prepared a proposal that includes gastronomy, music, painting exhibitions, sculptures, fashion designers, and supporting initiatives such as the Art City Tour.

On January 20, they kicked off the program with the Editus Group at the Cultura5 Restaurant.

Additionally, the Hotel has allied with Urá Mercado Cultural, allowing many national and regional artists to perform throughout the year.

Also, on January 26, the Hotel held a gastronomic event with two of the Top 50 chefs in Latin America. Alexander Herrera from El Salvador, Pablo Bonilla from Costa Rica, and Executive Chef of the Gran Hotel Costa Rica, Marcos Lamas, delighted guests with a special menu.

“On March 9, we will have another unique gastronomic experience, along with the Amex for Foodies program, which promotes special nights around the world developed in restaurants that offer unforgettable experiences to their cardholders,” the Hotel explained.

The Gran Hotel Costa Rica will open its doors to local designers so they can showcase their high-quality work. They have partnered with ADEmoda, an association created by the versatile designer, entrepreneur, and cultural manager Stefani Mitchell De La O, and focuses on innovative and sustainable designs.

Also, the Hotel is part of the Art City Tour, which offers night tours of museums, galleries, and cultural centers in the city of San José and has incremented the visitation of cultural institutions in the city.

It belongs to the Curio Collection by Hilton and is part of the Elite Hotels and Resorts chain in Costa Rica. Throughout its history, renowned guests such as Presidents John F. Kennedy, Harry Truman, and Jimmy Carter have stayed here.
