Dear Subscriber:

As many of you know, for the last five months, we’ve been working to find a way to bring to our online-only edition the quality journalism that made The Tico Times’ print edition Central America’s leading English-language newspaper for almost 57 years.

We’re happy to report some exciting good news: our new team and new organization are in place, and are charting a path forward that promises an even better English-language news experience online and across multiple digital formats. In the next few months, we’ll be redesigning our site, adding staff and developing the most dynamic and interesting English-language news site in the region.

Best of all, we’ll be offering The Tico Times for FREE to our online, tablet and mobile readers.

When the transition is complete, you’ll be able to receive fresh content – whether great investigative news stories, vibrant photos or fascinating video pieces – at home, on your laptop, on your mobile or on the go with your tablet.

While we’ll be phasing out our pay walls and PDF version of the weekly newspaper in the next couple weeks, we’ll continue to bring you great coverage through our new site, in daily newsletters and through our suggested weekend reads. You’ll still find all of your favorite content from the print edition, plus a lot more.

To our current and past subscribers, THANK YOU for helping sustain us through this transition. Without you, The Tico Times would never have survived. We’d also like to invite you to keep reading, and to watch for our new online format in coming months. We promise, you’ll be just as excited about it as we are.

As always, your opinions matter to us, and we appreciate your feedback. Is there something you’d like to see us doing? Please share it with us. Is there an unmet need in your community for better information? Let us know what it is.

It’s an honor and privilege to serve you. We hope you’ll continue to support The Tico Times and the sponsors and advertisers that enable us to keep you connected.

Warm saludos,

Dery Dyer, Publisher
And The Tico Times Staff
