Used book sale will support education

Book lovers will want to mark their calendars for Jan. 22, date of a used-book-sale fundraiser extravaganza being sponsored by the Women’s Club of Costa Rica.

Literary-minded shoppers will find great bargains in gently used books, DVDs, CDs, board games, puzzles and current magazines at the sale, as well as a coffee and baked goods corner to help fuel extended browsing.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit the club’s educational scholarship and “Reading Is Fun” projects.

The sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pan-American School in San Antonio de Belén, west of the capital (300 meters south of El Rodeo hotel and restaurant). The club is accepting donations of sale items and funds to support the cause. For information and a list of convenient drop-off locations, contact Kathi Garrison, book sale coordinator, at 2589-2037 or kathigarrison@sbcglobal.net.
