Pics of the Day: Rainy season returns to San José

The rainy season returned in full force Wednesday as much of Costa Rica was drenched by heavy rains.

The National Emergency Commission (CNE) issued a “Green Alert” on Wednesday due to rainfall in Costa Rica’s Caribbean and Northern zones.

“The beginning of the rainy season in the South Pacific, Central Pacific, North Pacific and Central Valley generate heavy afternoon showers that can extend until nighttime hours,” the alert read. “Remain vigilant, especially in areas of high risk for flooding and landslides.”
