The Costa Rican National Soccer team will travel to the United States to face the U.S. Men’s National Team in a friendly in Los Angeles on Sept. 2.
The match will start at 7 p.m. local time and will be broadcast live on ESPN2, ESPN3.com and Galavision. The teams will meet at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California, 13 miles south of downtown Los Angeles.
The two countries have battled to an even 11-11-6 record since 1975. The most recent meeting came in the final match of 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, after the United States scored in stoppage time. If Costa Rica had held on, the team would’ve qualified for last year’s World Cup.
This will be the first friendly match between the U.S. and Costa Rica since May 28, 1995, a 2-1 win for the Ticos in Tampa, Fla.
Tickets for the USA-Costa Rica match start at $20 and go on sale to the public on July 15 at 10 a.m. Pacific standard time.
