Four Seasons Costa Rica Unveils New Papagayo Suites

Four Seasons Resort Peninsula Papagayo has unveiled 10 new one-bedroom suites as part of a larger renovation of the luxury resort on Costa Rica’s northern Pacific coast. Reservations are now open for the Papagayo Suites, with the first stays available beginning December 17, 2026.

Each suite covers 112 square meters, or 1,206 square feet, and includes a king bedroom, a separate living room and a large terrace overlooking Papagayo Bay. The layout is intended to feel more like a private vacation home while keeping guests close to the resort’s restaurants, spa and recreational facilities.

The suites can accommodate up to three adults or two adults and two children, according to the resort’s booking information. Their design focuses on indoor-outdoor living, with natural wood, stone and colors inspired by the surrounding coastline. Other features include custom furniture, curved soaking tubs, marble bathrooms and large openings that bring in natural light and fresh air.

“These beautifully designed accommodations offer a seamless connection to the destination while providing the comfort and privacy that our guests value most,” General Manager Brent Martin said. The Papagayo Suites are the first new accommodations introduced under a wider improvement program at the Four Seasons property. Other work includes a redesign of the three-bedroom Miramar Presidential Suite, updates to guest rooms and renovations to the Nemare steakhouse.

Nemare’s new design will draw on Guanacaste’s sabanero, or cowboy, culture. Plans call for more outdoor seating, natural materials and a menu that continues to focus on cooking with fire and smoke. The restaurant’s name comes from the Chorotega word for smoke. The resort is also updating its meeting and event facilities. The ballroom, which covers more than 4,000 square feet, will receive new lighting, wood and stone finishes and decorative elements inspired by Costa Rica’s plants and wildlife.

Peninsula Papagayo has said the Four Seasons will close from September 1 through September 30 while some of the work is completed. The resort is scheduled to reopen October 1, although the new Papagayo Suites will not begin receiving guests until December. Four Seasons did not disclose starting nightly rates for the new suites in its announcement. Reservations are available through the resort’s website.
