JetBlue’s New Year Airfare Sale to Costa Rica

Those still looking for a getaway to Costa Rica now have a new reason from JetBlue Airways. The airline rolled out a promotion offering 26 percent off base fares on select flights, timed to start the year with savings. This deal targets winter escapes, aligning with the high season here when visitors flock to spots like Manuel Antonio and Arenal Volcano.

The offer comes as JetBlue strengthens its presence in Central America. The carrier operates daily flights to San José and Liberia Airports from key U.S. hubs such as New York, Boston, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, and Los Angeles. These routes connect major markets to Costa Rica’s attractions, from surfing in Tamarindo to hiking in Monteverde.

Under the promotion, dubbed a kickoff to 2026, passengers apply the code GO26 during booking. It cuts 26 percent from the base fare on one-way or round-trip tickets. Bookings must be made by January 7, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Travel dates are from January 13 through February 28, 2026, excluding Fridays and Sundays to avoid peak demand periods.

This timing suits Costa Rica’s dry season, when clear skies and warm temperatures draw crowds. Tourism officials here note that affordable airfare boosts visitor numbers, supporting local economies in coastal towns and national parks. Last year, air arrivals from the U.S. topped 1.5 million, with budget options playing a key role in that growth.

JetBlue’s service continues with perks like free Wi-Fi, complimentary snacks, and extra legroom in coach. For families or groups heading to eco-lodges or taking an adventure tours, the discount eases costs without skimping on comfort. Routes from the East Coast often run nonstop, taking hours off travel time compared to connections through other hubs.

Those in the tourism business, welcome the move. Hotels and tour companies in Guanacaste and the Central Valley report steady bookings for early 2026, expecting a bump from promotions like this. One San José-based guide service mentioned that lower flight prices free up budgets for activities such as zip-lining or wildlife spotting.

Passengers should check JetBlue’s website for availability, as seats fill quickly during sales. Blackout dates and fare classes apply, so early action pays off. The airline advises reviewing terms to confirm eligibility on specific itineraries.

This promotion reflects broader trends in aviation, where carriers compete to fill planes post-holidays. For Costa Ricans traveling north or Americans planning returns, it provides mutual benefits. As the year begins, hopefully, such deals signal a recovery in international travel, with Costa Rica still positioned as a top choice for nature-focused trips despite the increased competition from Panama and Colombia.
