Pic of the Day: Monster’s cave no match for Alajuelense

A raucous atmosphere at Ricardo Saprissa Stadium was no match for the lion’s roar as Liga Deportiva Alajuelense dominated their rivals in a historic 5-2 victory.

Sunday’s result was the first time La Liga has ever tallied five goals against Deportivo Saprissa at its imposing Tibás stadium, which is nicknamed “The Cave of the Monster.”

Alajuelense is now 12 points up on Saprissa in the the 2019-20 Apertura standings.
