Increase in rainfall forecast for this week

A low-pressure system that entered the country from Panama last weekend brought intermittent rains in various parts of Costa Rica. Those rains are expected to increase this week.

The National Meteorological Institute (IMN)said that most of the rains this week will be normal for the rainy season, but showers will increase towards the weekend.

Meteorologist Rebeca Morera said a large presence of clouds in the Caribbean region also will bring increased rainfall in the Central Valley and the northern Pacific region.

Mornings mostly will be hot and humid, and afternoons likely will see heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms, the IMN reported.
