Six U.S. presidents have visited Costa Rica. Herbert Hoover came here as president-elect in 1928, and Lyndon Johnson made a brief stop during a flight to El Salvador.

Costa Rica’s favorite U.S. president, John F. Kennedy, visited in 1963. The most recent trip was made by Bill Clinton in 1997.
