Holiday Inn San José-Escazú earns 5 stars

After complying with strict sustainability, quality and technology guidelines, Holiday Inn San José-Escazú on Monday became the eighth hotel in the Costa Rican metropolitan area to receive five-star status.

Juan Carlos Borbón, general manager of the Costa Rican Tourism Institute, delivered the accreditation during an official ceremony this week.

To qualify, hotels must comply with guidelines in architecture, green areas, public spaces, rooms, recreational areas, restaurants, services, maintenance and cleanliness, among others.

“For Holiday Inn San José-Escazú, it is an honor to receive this accreditation only five months after opening,” hotel General Manager Oliver Schuschner said in a press release.

The 160-room hotel opened April 1 and is located next to Cima Hospital in Escazú, southwest of San José.
