Theater group seeks cast For Neil Simon comedy

The Little Theatre Group, Costa Rica’s oldest English-language community theater group, is holding auditions for its upcoming production of Neil Simon’s comedy “Laughter on the 23rd Floor.”

Inspired by the playwright’s youthful experience as a staff writer for Sid Caesar’s “Your Show of Shows,” the comic drama, directed by Tom Humes, has the harried writing staff scrambling to top each other with gags, while competing for the attention of star madman Max Prince.

There are parts for seven men age 20 to 60 and two women age 20 to 40. People interested in working backstage are also welcome at the auditions, which will take place July 4 at 7 p.m. at the Laurence Olivier Theater on Avenida 2, Calle 28, in San José. For information, call 8811-9518.
