Peace Army Nominated For International Award

THE Peace Army of Costa Rica, a nonprofit organization that hosts workshops to train teachers in new forms of teaching styles that promote peaceful interactions, is a finalist for the international “Changemakers Innovation Award.”A project of the Rasur Foundation, the Peace Army seeks to create environments of peace and emotional understanding in schools (TT, July 9, 2004).The project was selected as one of 11 finalists from a field of more than 79 projects from 32 different countries. The winner of the award, worth $5,000, will be determined by votes cast on the Changemaker’s Web site through Sept. 8.For more information or to vote, visit www.changemakers.net.
