Country Has More Organic Farmers

THE number of organic farmers inCosta Rica has increased to 6,000 producersof organic coffee, banana, cacao,pineapple, medicinal plants and vegetableson approximately 11,000 hectares, accordingto a recent study by the pro-organicorganization EcoLógica.The Ministry of Agriculture estimatedlast year the number of organic farmerswas 4,000, growing crops on 9,100 hectares.
