Country Celebrates Cooperative Week

THE country’s cooperatives celebrated Cooperative Week with a series of commemorative activities and inaugurations.

The activities kicked off on Monday with a ceremony at the Pacific-slope town of Palmares’ BilingualHigh School.

During the event, COOPEMONA R.L., an education cooperative from the Central Pacific city of Quepos, was honored.

On Tuesday, the Second Caribbean Cooperatives Fair began in Limón. As part of the fair, a cooperatives parade across the Atlantic port city is planned for Saturday, National Cooperatives Day. The fair ends Sunday.

Today, CONATRAMAR R.L. – the cooperative in charge of providing ferry service between the central Pacific port town of Puntarenas and Playa Naranjo on the other side of the Gulf of Nicoya – plans to inaugurate its newest boat.
